Coloured aquatint, "A WOMAN of ARGENTERIA. A WOMAN of SCIO", 1821

This is a beautiful original coloured aquatint print of "A Woman of Argenteria" from the book, "Moeurs, Usages, Costumes des Ottomans" by A. l Castellan, first published in Paris in 1812. An English edition was published in London in 1821 by F. Shobert. The print is an exquisite example of early 19th century printing technology, offering a vivid depiction of life in the Ottoman Empire at the time.
